Salary & Shift Pattern
Salary: £18‑£20 per hour. Rotational night shift on a 3.5 nights per week pattern (see example weeks below). Overtime and quarterly bonus available.
- Week 1: Monday‑Wednesday 19:00‑07:00 | Thursday 19:00‑01:00
- Week 2: Tuesday‑Thursday 19:00‑07:00 | Friday 19:00‑01:00
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out regular MOT service inspections on a wide range of truck manufacturers.
- Fault finding and repair of engines, gearboxes, brakes, suspension systems, etc., to high standards and Volvo procedures.
- Assist in fault diagnosis processes.
- Service customer vehicles and complete service sheets.
- Road-test vehicles when required (HGV licence holder).
- Assist with roadside breakdowns.
- Process all relevant paperwork accurately and report all vehicle defects.
- Maintain workshop facilities, equipment, and tools in a clean and organized manner.
- Support the development of trainees and apprentices.
Qualifications & Experience
- Level 3 NVQ or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance.
- Experience working on HGVs or completion of a HGV industry apprenticeship.
- HGV licence holder or willingness to obtain one.
