Ready to take your career to the next level? Join our Croydon team! £1000 signing bonus payable after 6 months service! Salary up to £17 per hour whilst training! Once individuals have finished the program, they will be awarded by the IMI with a Level 3 Technical Certificate in HGV Maintenance & Repair.

If you're an experienced Light Vehicle Mechanic, this is your opportunity to transition into a rewarding career as an HGV Technician with our fully funded 6-month training programme. You’ll gain hands‑on experience in our workshops while receiving expert tuition at our dedicated in‑house training facility. Throughout the programme, you’ll spend one week each month at our training centre, with all travel and accommodation expenses fully paid.

Covering a rotating shift – other shifts available, talk to us about your preference Monday to Friday 0600hrs to 1430hrs/1430hrs to 2300hrs (40 hrs per week paid). Overtime available Saturday & Sunday! (double time Sunday!!)

What Will You Bring

  • City and Guilds / NVQ Level 2 or 3 or equivalent, in Light Vehicle Repair and Maintenance
  • Light vehicle experience – proven work experience on cars, vans, plant or motorbikes.
  • IT literate.
  • Able to demonstrate knowledge and experience as a LGV Technician/Vehicle Technician/Plant Mechanics.

About The Role

Your role will involve carrying out inspections, MOT preparation, diagnostic work and fault finding, carrying out repairs on engines, gearboxes, brakes and suspension systems on trucks and buses. You will also learn to use Volvo’s in‑house systems and complete paperwork such as job cards and service sheets. We will help and support you to learn to work to Volvo Service Times.
