Overview

Renault Truck Commercials – Eastern Region office, based in Dunstable, Reading, or West Thurrock, supports daily regional sales in the East region territory covering Felixstowe, Grays, Kent, Reading and Dunstable. The Sales Manager will oversee sales operations, implement sales strategies, and maintain client relationships.

This key role delivers sales targets and commercial objectives by driving the performance of the Van Sales Team with a focus on improving market share, profitability, and conversion rates while ensuring adherence to Sales Product Campaigns and Retail Operating Standards.

Responsibilities

  • Sell Renault Trucks van products and service agreements in line with agreed sales targets.
  • Maintain key account customer relationships.
  • Actively prospect for business with both new and existing customers.
  • Attend customer calls and meetings with the Van sales team to support closing of deals.
  • Promote and lead the development of customer relations.
  • In conjunction with marketing, implement and review promotional campaigns.
  • Commercially appraise deals to maximise the company’s financial position.
  • Manage the Van Sales P&L, relevant balance sheet position and working‑capital management of stock.
  • Represent the region at key internal and external meetings, including meetings with the market company, Renault Trucks UK and Ireland.
  • Ensure effective working relationships are maintained within RTC and RTUK team management.
  • Ensure the Van sales team uses the CRM system to manage customer relationships and maximise sales opportunities.
  • Co‑ordinate coaching and mentoring of direct reports.
  • Set sales targets and objectives for the Van sales team.
  • Ensure compliance with company sales processes to maximise efficiency.
  • Develop commission schemes for the Van sales teams.

Qualifications

  • Formal training in management and leadership.
  • Evidence of running successful sales operations in the commercial vehicle industry.
  • Experience leading, managing, coaching and mentoring employees.
  • Good understanding of the light commercial vehicle retail business and environment.
