Volvo Truck & Bus is looking for skilled and ambitious HGV Technicians to join our growing team. This is more than just a job — it is a long-term career path with world-class training, clear development pathways, and the opportunity to work with one of the most respected brands in the industry.
Responsibilities
- Carry out service, maintenance, and repair work on Volvo HGVs to the highest standards.
- Diagnose and rectify vehicle faults using modern diagnostic equipment.
- Perform safety inspections, MOT preparations, and routine maintenance.
- Ensure all work is completed efficiently, safely, and in line with manufacturer standards.
- Maintain a clean and organised working environment.
Qualifications
- Fully qualified HGV Technician (City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
- Experience working with HGVs or commercial vehicles.
- Strong diagnostic and problem solving skills.
- A team player with a proactive attitude.
- Valid UK driving licence (HGV licence desirable but not essential).
Benefits and Rewards
- Up to £20 per hour + extra payments for call outs; £1,500 signing bonus (payable after 6 months continuous service).
- VAS payments: £155 per week whilst on call out; additional payment per call out; paid per hour at overtime rates (time and a half, double time Sundays and Bank Holidays).
- Working a rotating shift pattern: early and late shifts (0600–1400 / 1400–2200) with alternate Saturdays (0600–1400) at overtime rates.
- Salary up to £20 per hour dependent upon qualifications and experience.
- 25 days holiday + bank holidays (rising to 30 days with service).
- Overtime at time and a half Mon to Sat; double time Sundays/bank holidays.
