Who are you?
- Technically competent in the repair and maintenance of HGVs
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, and a team player
- Ability to develop or improve processes
- Willingness to learn new skills and participate in training
Required knowledge & experience:
- City and Guilds, NVQ 3, or equivalent
- Completed an apprenticeship in the HGV industry or equivalent experience
- Experience in the commercial vehicle industry
What will you be doing
- Carrying out repairs safely and according to manufacturer’s procedures
- Using Volvo Standard Times and Volvo Special Tools where appropriate
- Assisting in fault diagnosis and warranty procedures
- Supporting Action Service Europe when needed
- Working with the parts team to ensure correct parts are fitted
- Road testing vehicles (if holding a HGV license)
- Assisting with roadside breakdowns
- Completing job cards and service sheets accurately
- Reporting vehicle defects
- Maintaining workshop cleanliness and safety
- Wearing PPE when required
- Supporting trainees and apprentices
