Who are you?

  • Technically competent in the repair and maintenance of HGVs
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, and a team player
  • Ability to develop or improve processes
  • Willingness to learn new skills and participate in training

Required knowledge & experience:

  • City and Guilds, NVQ 3, or equivalent
  • Completed an apprenticeship in the HGV industry or equivalent experience
  • Experience in the commercial vehicle industry

What will you be doing

  • Carrying out repairs safely and according to manufacturer’s procedures
  • Using Volvo Standard Times and Volvo Special Tools where appropriate
  • Assisting in fault diagnosis and warranty procedures
  • Supporting Action Service Europe when needed
  • Working with the parts team to ensure correct parts are fitted
  • Road testing vehicles (if holding a HGV license)
  • Assisting with roadside breakdowns
  • Completing job cards and service sheets accurately
  • Reporting vehicle defects
  • Maintaining workshop cleanliness and safety
  • Wearing PPE when required
  • Supporting trainees and apprentices
