As a Director of Funding & Capital Markets, you will be a member of a dynamic global team responsible for leading the funding and capital markets function across the Volvo Group's captive finance Business Area. In this role, you will be responsible for guiding the development and execution of funding and capital markets strategy with specific focus on Southern & Western Europe as part of the Global Capital Markets function. This includes direct responsibility for the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Spain, and Italy, but with additional opportunities to work across over 40 global markets where we work today.
By working directly with local VFS teams, the global HQ team, regional leadership, and a network of over 50 banking partners, this position will drive local syndication execution to meet stakeholder expectations while ensuring adherence to global policies and procedures and will serve as a catalyst in the professional development of our global network of finance professionals in the areas of funding and capital markets.
Together with your colleagues at VFS and in the broad cross-functional network at the Volvo Group, your starting point will be to take responsibilities in the following areas:
- Direct syndication activity by developing appropriate investors and negotiating and closing transactions in close coordination with VFS functional resources including finance, legal, tax, accounting etc.
- Develop long-term, strategic relationships with syndicate partners including banks, independent finance companies and other appropriate institutions.
- Drive strategic integration of syndication within each market to support Volvo Group sales and deliver VFS commercial and financial success.
- Steer VFS local funding and capital structure management activities under guidance of the VFS Global Funding Strategy across all markets.
- Lead ongoing development of the VFS Funding & Capital Markets tools and procedures to drive development of local market competencies.
- Travels internationally (30% to 50%).

Qualifications likely required to be successful in this role include:
- BS/BA in Finance/Accounting or related field is required. CPA and/or MBA preferred.
- 7+ years of progressive experience in the financial services industry.
- 5+ years of experience in capital markets.
- 5+ years of experience in equipment leasing and/or related industry preferred.
- Multi-national corporate work experience strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability in financial statement and risk analysis preferred.
- Self-starter with relationship management experience and sales experience preferred.
- Proven leadership competency demonstrated by successful managerial experience, especially indirect leadership.
- Demonstrated experience in tax analysis and strategy development a plus.
- Demonstrated experience in managerial accounting/controllership a plus.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with exposure to various business settings.
