Who are you?
- Solid experience with process review, automation, backend development and frontend development.
- Strong experience with process review, automation and optimisation.
- Experience with Node.js or an equivalent backend technology, alongside strong SQL and relational database knowledge.
- Proficiency with version control and modern software development practices.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret detailed business rules and acceptance criteria and translate them into accurate, tested solutions.
- Exposure to, or an interest in developing your knowledge of, AWS or Azure, cloud platforms, Infrastructure as Code and security fundamentals, with support provided to develop these skills.
The Role
You will report to the Digital & IT Market Manager and work closely with Data Specialists, Solutions Engineers and colleagues across Volvo Financial Services, giving you the opportunity to work on meaningful projects and see the impact of your work. A key part of your role will be to drive automation from end to end. You will identify opportunities to improve business processes, understand the rules and requirements behind them, design and build automated solutions, then support their deployment and ongoing optimisation.
- Lead automation initiatives from planning and design through to implementation, deployment and continuous improvement.
- Build and maintain backend services and APIs using Node.js, alongside frontend interfaces and related workflows.
- Work with SQL and PostgreSQL, including queries, schema design and data integrity.
- Translate complex business rules into accurate, tested automated solutions, working with financial calculations, decision engines and backend and data integrations.
- Use AI assisted development tools to accelerate delivery, while critically reviewing and validating the output against business requirements.
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand and refine processes before deciding how they can be automated and improved.
