We are seeking a professional and customer-focused Automotive Service Advisor to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for customers needing vehicle maintenance and repair services, ensuring a seamless experience from initial consultation to service completion. This role requires a strong understanding of automotive systems, excellent communication skills, and the ability to upsell services effectively. Prior dealership experience and automotive diagnostics knowledge are highly valued to provide accurate estimates and recommend appropriate solutions.
Duties
- Greet customers warmly and listen carefully to their vehicle concerns
- Explain repair and maintenance services clearly, providing detailed auto estimates
- Coordinate with technicians to prioritise and schedule repairs efficiently
- Upsell additional services such as oil changes, tyre rotations, brake repairs, alignments, suspension work, and transmission repairs
- Write service orders accurately and ensure all work is documented properly
- Manage customer inquiries regarding vehicle status and service progress
- Handle cash transactions and process payments securely
- Maintain detailed records of customer interactions, service history, and billing information
- Assist in promoting automotive repair services and vehicle sales when appropriate
- Follow up with customers post-service to ensure satisfaction
Experience
- Previous dealership experience or auto service management background is preferred
- Knowledge of automotive diagnostics, mechanical systems, and repair procedures including oil changes, brake repairs, suspensions, alignments, diesel engine repairs, shocks & struts, air brakes, auto body repair, tyre service, and transmissions
- Experience with auto estimating software and service writing is highly desirable
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to upsell services effectively
- Familiarity with mechanic work or service technician experience is a plus
- Proven ability in auto sales or automobile sales can be beneficial
- Excellent communication skills combined with mechanical knowledge to explain complex repairs clearly to customers
