About this opportunity…

As a Clelands Technician, you would play a key role in supporting the technical team, carrying out general servicing, maintenance and mechanical repairs to a very high standard, in line with manufacturing specification.

Clelands Volvo is one of the most respected Volvo retailers in the country. Based in Melrose Road, Galashiels, in the Scottish Borders, Cleland’s is an established Volvo Retailer ideally situated to supply the most competitive deals on Volvo throughout the UK.

Clelands are celebrating their 35th Anniversary of being a Volvo Retailer in Galashiels and were recently awarded the 2024 Volvo National Retailer of the Year!

Key responsibilities…

  • Servicing and maintenance of all vehicles across the brand.
  • Electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic fault diagnosis and repair, this work may include warranty approved work in line with our brand parameters.
  • Department of Transport (MOT) testing duties (if qualified)
  • Completing job cards and electronic write ups on franchise platforms
  • Completion of electronic vehicle health checks (eVHC’s)
  • Support Apprentice Technicians as required.

What you’ll bring…

  • Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic (or transferable skills within a similar role) with technical expertise to work at pace.
  • A team-player who is comfortable operating with set processes and procedures.
  • A qualified Vehicle Technician with an industry recognised qualification, ideally level 3 but level 2 will be considered (IMI, City & Guilds or equivalent)
  • Ability to carry out MOT’s is desirable, but not essential as full training will be offered.
  • Motivated, dedicated and organised with a focus on Health & Safety in the workplace.
  • Tech savvy and confident using iPad software.

  • Full time 40 hour week, 8.30am – 5.00pm Monday – Friday (no weekends)
