Role Profile: As the Technical Manager (HVAC/Controls), you will be responsible for leading, developing, and managing the Controls Team (10 reports), ensuring the efficient delivery of electronic controls, embedded software, and digital functionality across the company’s ventilation product portfolio. The role centers on team leadership, resource planning, workload management, and work package definition, ensuring that engineering capability is used effectively to meet project, compliance, and business objectives.

- Define, communicate, and maintain work packages, engineering deliverables, and design expectations for all controls-related activities.
- Oversee line management responsibilities including performance reviews, objective setting, skills development, and recruitment.
- Build capability within the team, encouraging ownership, accountability, and a culture of continuous improvement.
- Offer overarching technical guidance on electronics and controls topics, ensuring alignment and good engineering practice, while relying on specialists in the team to resolve complex technical details.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration with Mechanical Engineering, Project Management, Test & Compliance, Operations, and Product Management to ensure seamless project delivery.
To be successful in this role you will require:
- Minimum 5 years experience managing an engineering design team, ideally covering electronics, embedded controls, or electromechanical products.
- Proven ability to manage engineering workloads, balance competing priorities, and deliver projects through structured work-package management.
- Demonstrated experience developing team capability, mentoring engineers, and leading multidisciplinary design activities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to innovate within constraints.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration.
- Passion for energy-efficient, sustainable technologies.
- Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on problem solving.
Package: Salary dependent on experience, Company Bonus Scheme, Private Health, 25 days annual leave, Pension, Health Assured EAP, and more.
