Hours of work: 47 hours, Monday - Thursday 8.30pm - 7am, and Friday 8.30pm - 1.30am
Role Profile
The Nightshift Manager oversees all ducting production, moulding manufacturing, and warehouse operations during night hours.
This includes leading a moulding team of 20, a ducting team of 9, and a warehouse team of 7.
The role ensures safe working practices, dedicated team performance, efficient material flow, and achievement of nightly KPIs across all areas.
A solid understanding of both manufacturing and warehousing environments is essential.
Your responsibilities will include
- Operational Management – Ducting, Moulding & Warehousing
- Manage moulding manufacturing operations with a team of 20 operators, including supporting the on-coming shift with the correct preparations.
- Oversee the ducting production team of 9, ensuring workflow, quality, and output targets are met.
- Lead warehouse operations with a team of 7, ensuring accurate stock handling and smooth material flow.
- Monitor machine performance, cycle times, scrap levels, and production output across all manufacturing areas.
- Ensure prompt movement of materials between warehouse, moulding, and ducting teams.
- Follow handover instructions for picking and despatch to keep continuity.
- Ensure all areas stay clean, tidy, and audit-ready throughout the shift.
- Performance & KPI Delivery
- Ensure KPIs are met for moulding, ducting, and warehouse operations.
- Monitor team performance, address issues promptly, and escalate concerns.
- Complete exact shift reports, including production data, warehouse movements, and any operational issues.
- Team Leadership
- Allocate tasks, manage staffing levels, and ensure workflow continuity across all departments.
- Ensure teams follow SSOW, quality procedures, and operational standards
- Issue Resolution & Communication
- Resolve issues that arise during the shift, including production delays, material shortages, or equipment concerns.
- Report key issues, incidents, or operational challenges to the Warehouse Manager or Mouldshop & Ducting Production Manager.
- Provide a clear and detailed handover to the incoming shift, including updates for moulding, ducting, and warehouse operations.
- Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all staff stay compliant with procedures, PPE, and safe systems of work (SSOW).
- Conduct routine safety checks across moulding, ducting, and warehouse areas.
Experience and Skills to be considered
- Experience in manufacturing, production and warehouse operations.
- Familiarity with inventory systems, production reporting, and warehouse equipment.
- Leadership / management qualification or equivalent experience in challenging working environments.
- Proficient in computerized systems
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety and SSOW compliance.
- Ability to achieve targets and support exacting standards under pressure.
- Effective communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
