Reporting to: Senior Direct Procurement Specialist
Location: Reading
Hours of work: Mon-Thur 8.45am β 4.55pm, Friday 8.45am β 4.25pm (37 hours)
Package: up to Β£35k negotiable depending on experience, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, company pension, EAP, Boost Works discount platform.
Role SummaryAs the Procurement Specialist , you will operate across multiple sites within the UK, based on the requirement to support seven operating companies within VVUK. This will include responsibility for Direct/Indirect Procurement spend for Volution Ventilation\βs UK based brands.
The role will regularly interact with site and functional personnel, leading cross functional and site sourcing initiatives, ensuring key stakeholder requirements are accounted for. There will be a requirement to project manage, to completion, multi-site, multi-discipline cost initiatives, tracking and reporting them monthly.
The role requires particularly strong analytical, influencing and implementation skills with the Procurement Specialist playing a key role in supporting the UK Head of Procurement by principally collecting, evaluating and maintaining data related to supplier expenditure, market intelligence, procurement KPI\βs, as well as Procurement policies.
ResponsibilitiesAs the Procurement Specialist your responsibilities will include:
Through demonstration of strong market insight, source Direct/Indirect goods, and services, required by the business within agreed project timescales, most cost effectively, meeting associated cost saving objectives and key stakeholder service level requirements.
To be the driving force for increasing the use of more sustainable goods, in-house, and by 3rd party manufacturers.
Negotiation of terms of conditions for goods/services supplier contracts, ensuring agreements are signed within appropriate time scales.
Ensure all Procurement activities undertaken fit within the overall Procurement Corporate Strategy, in accordance with the centralised Procurement Policies.
Build strong working relationships with all VVUK site teams through regular site visits, and interaction.
Ability to travel to key supplier partners, at short notice, to resolve emerging supply chain constraints.
Develop \βexpert\β level knowledge on product data requirements for all purchased goods/services, ensuring that they fully reflected in Epicor , and any other associated business platform(s).
To be the Procurement lead in vehicle fleet administration (UK fleet), working closely with the HR function, to maintain sufficient fleet, whilst optimizing costs and working to an agreed budget.
Maintain the accuracy of Direct/Indirect pricing on the MRP system, and through contracts and agreements, effectively resolving any Procurement related Purchase Price Variance (PPV), and Material Price Variance (MPV) issues.
Analyse, review, monitor, and measure sourcing decisions, negotiating contracts/agreements to ensure vendor selection meets all VVUK requirements, ensuring opportunities are capitalised on, reporting KPI\βs through a Procurement Pipeline ensuring the success of the overall Procurement sourcing/re-sourcing strategy.
Manage the Procurement element of Capital Expenditure (Capex) requests, working collaboratively with stakeholders to maximise cost avoidance through effective negotiation.
Work well as part of a team, with the capability to lead with influence, driving Continuous Improvement through the application of Procurement processes and techniques.
QualificationsExperience and Skills to be considered:
Minimum 3 years proven work experience as a Procurement Specialist, or similar role.
Good negotiation, and persuasion, skills
Confident approach to dealing with suppliers, and other stakeholders, to ensure that business requirements are delivered on time, and in full.
Ability to work efficiently/effectively cross-functionally, influencing colleagues to delivering assigned goals, and objectives.
Ability to analyse data, effectively presenting results, highlighting trends, to aid the decision making process.
Highly numerate, possessing excellent analytical skills.
Proven ability to be self-motivated, and be self-sufficient, in taking the lead, making proposals and/or effective decisions based on supporting, factual, data.
Able to positively influence others, at all levels.
Approachable, and flexible, able to adjust/flex to all situations, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent planning, and organisation, skills, prioritising tasks appropriately in a fast-paced, high pressure, work environment.
