About the Role: As a Junior Project Manager at Volution UK, you will assist in the management and execution of engineering projects, gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will support the Senior Project Manager & Team Lead in the successful delivery of HVAC-related projects, helping to ensure that they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Key areas of responsibility:
- Assist in planning and executing project tasks, under the guidance of the Senior Project Manager & Team Lead, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.
- Support in tracking and updating the Bill of Materials (BOM) and project costs, ensuring alignment with project specifications and timelines.
- Help monitor project progress, identify issues, and assist in resolving them with the appropriate corrective actions.
- Assist in producing and maintaining project documentation, including reports, schedules, and work breakdown structures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective communication and project coordination.
- Participate in project meetings, preparing agendas and reports as needed, and taking notes for project tracking purposes.
- Support the Senior Project Manager in stakeholder communication and reporting project progress at regular intervals.
- Take on smaller projects or tasks independently as experience grows, demonstrating the ability to manage individual components of larger projects.
Skills, Knowledge & Personal Qualities:
- Basic understanding of project management methodologies (APM, PMI, etc.) and project management tools.
- A desire to grow and develop within the project management field.
- Some experience or familiarity with manufacturing processes is desirable, with a willingness to learn and understand how production impacts project execution.
- Previous exposure to a manufacturing environment or related processes would be beneficial.
- Familiarity with Bill of Materials (BOM) management and basic project cost tracking.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and the ability to quickly learn and use project management software.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to organize and maintain project documentation.
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
