Volunteer Paddock Groomer
Are you living in Cambridge and looking to get involved, feel useful, and be part of a friendly local community? Whether you’re young or young at heart and love horses, we’d love your help keeping our paddocks clean and safe. It’s straightforward, hands-on work that makes a real difference.

This is what we have in mind for this role

  • Towing our paddock groomer behind our small tractor once or twice a week in the paddocks while the horses are in for their daily RDA sessions.
  • Reliable and able to help regularly, usually Tuesday to Friday, with flexible days to suit you.
  • Friendly team players who want to support people with disabilities and enjoy being part of a great local community.

These are the qualities we hope to find if you\’re keen on taking this role up

  • Anyone from Cambridge with some tractor driving and farm experience
  • Experience or knowledge of horse behaviour helpful but not essential
  • Join us to make a difference and spend time with amazing horses and people right here in Cambridge.

Requirements:

  • Mature person preferred
  • Confident and comfortable around horses
  • Some basic horse experience preferred.
  • Competent driver with tractor driving experience preferred but not essential.
  • Able to do light physical tasks (emptying the paddock grooming bin and some basic paddock groomer maintenance)
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather (we might let you have a day off if it\’s raining a lot)
  • Reliable and happy to be part of a team
  • A good sense of humour and a willingness to muck in!

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

  • Our programme runs Tuesday to Friday, between 8.30am and 1:15pm
  • We’re flexible — help out one day a week, or more if it suits you
  • We ask for a minimum 6-month commitment for consistency
  • Happy to provide a reference after 6 months of regular volunteering
