At Wesley Court sheltered housing, we have a greenhouse that is in need of some TLC. We’re looking for a couple of people who can help clear the beds and path in the greenhouse and get it ready for planting. We’d love to encourage tenants to use the space more, or to have it as a site where we can grow plants to share around our other supported housing gardens. If you enjoy a gardening challenge and could help us with this, please get in touch.
For this role, ideally you would:
- Be a green-fingered person who wants to share their love of gardening with older people
- Be someone reasonably fit and active
As we know the benefits that “green activity” has on well-being and health, we are always keen for our residents to be involved as they are able - even “armchair gardening”. As part of our "Breath of Fresh Air" initiative, our volunteers will therefore also be happy to spend time chatting and sometimes including them in gardening tasks as the occasion arises.
