Volunteer Driver Role Description – South Antrim Community Transport
South Antrim Community Transport is looking to increase their team of volunteer drivers for their community transport scheme. We are looking for people from around the Antrim, Crumlin, Carrickfergus, Whitehead and Carnlough areas but would welcome individuals from other areas within South Antrim.
South Antrim Community Transport is a non-profit making organisation and a registered charity whose aims are to address and reduce social isolation within the South Antrim operational area. Our service is invaluable to those individuals/groups who find it difficult to access public transport. We deliver a quality service to our members and engage with other partnerships to continue to provide a safe and reliable transport option.
Volunteers will use their own vehicles to transport our members to a range of destinations throughout our operational area and will be required to go through all the necessary checks and training before commencing the role. Volunteers will receive full training and be mentored by a volunteer champion within our office, who will continually support the volunteer.
Volunteer drivers will receive a mileage allowance for all trips undertaken on behalf of the Dial-A-Lift service to cover the cost of fuel and wear and tear of their vehicle.
We are always looking to increase our volunteer driver pool and if you or someone you know would like to give some of their time to supporting the local community, why not apply and join our brilliant team of volunteers.
