Heart Of Down Red Squirrel Group is looking for enthusiastic and committed volunteers to assist with the recovery and conservation of our native Red Squirrel population across central Co Down. We currently have active groups working in Drumkeeragh, Bohill, Tievenadarragh, Castlewellan, and Castle Ward, and we welcome anyone with an interest in wildlife and the outdoors to get involved.
As a volunteer, you’ll have the opportunity to take part in a variety of rewarding, hands‑on activities, including:
- Wildlife Monitoring & Survey
- Feeding Station Maintenance
- Public Engagement & Education
- Habitat & Conservation Projects
- Team Activities
Beyond Red Squirrel conservation, volunteers may also have the chance to contribute to our broader wildlife projects, including work with barn owls, hedgehogs, and other native species.
