Volunteer Now has partnered with Be Collective to bring a dedicated online platform for volunteering to Northern Ireland. The platform supports volunteers through the volunteering process and helps connect more people with a wider range of opportunities. There’s lots of great features to Be Collective like messaging, making a profile, and being able to compile all your experiences, training and roles as well as the skills gained within a social CV. We would particularly welcome support with:

  • Parade stewards / marshals — helping with the parade line‑up, supporting participants, guiding the route, and helping keep the parade moving safely.
  • Helping us spread the word via handing out leaflets.
  • Event guides / welcome volunteers — helping attendees find the parade, toilets, accessibility points, family areas, and other parts of the day.
  • Set‑up support — helping organisers with signs, banners, information points, decorations, and general prep before the parade.
  • Community support — supporting stalls and groups, guiding visitors, and helping the public know what is happening and where.
  • Pack‑down support — helping tidy up after the event and making sure the area is left safe and respectful.

The main volunteer date will be Saturday 22nd August 2026 (though opportunities for volunteering in the run up are also available and we would encourage you to enquire within). Approximate volunteer times/shifts for the 22nd will be:

  • Morning prep and parade support: around 9am–2.30pm.
  • Prep decorating - 9am though will start a week or two before the parade!
  • Pack‑down support: from 2pm, exact time depending on programme.

The parade is expected to gather from late morning, with the parade setting off around 1pm, finishing at Marcus Square for the post‑parade celebration.
