We will also be holding a Springtide Market on 5th & 6th April. It will be a chance to explore a vibrant array of unique crafts and delicious foods offered by talented local artisans and vendors. From handmade gifts to delightful treats, there will be something for everyone to enjoy. We will have some music in the Stable Yard and hope to have some crafts for children upstairs in the Nature Play Den. To ensure this busy weekend runs smoothly we have a number of volunteering opportunities available for you to get involved in. If you, or anybody you know would like to get involved please get in touch.
Tasks and responsibilities:- Paper Flower Making Sessions: Join us for some Paper Flower making session on Wednesday 18th March and Friday 27th March 11am to 1.30pm (or later if you really enjoy making the paper flowers!) The flowers will be used to decorate our indoor spaces to match our Spring theme on our trail – all materials, equipment and templates will be provided.
- Trail Set Up: The Garden and around the Mansion will be transformed into a Spring Time trail, the set up for this will take place on Wednesday 1st and Thursday 2nd April. If you enjoy wielding a mallet, bashing posts into the ground and setting up giant flowers come along and join our team! Set up will take place 10am to 4pm each day – traditional weather for all trail set ups is rain so please wear layers and bring waterproofs!
- General Visitor Experience Volunteer: Does being part of a busy event team excite you?! Are you good at following instructions and completing tasks?! Then being part of our Event Team is the right role for you! During the Springtide Market the stable yard will be busy and we will have lots of small tasks to be completed and lunch breaks to be covered all in and around our visitors – the role will be varied and would be great for people who are natural multi taskers and enjoy interacting with visitors and our stall holders!
- Car Parking Volunteer: Do you enjoy puzzle solving and a good game of Tetris?!? Then being a Castle Ward car parker could be for you! You will join a team of elite logical thinkers who will guide our visitors into the most obscure parking spots available – whether they drive a Mini or a Monster truck, under the guidance of our parking team we will get them slotted into the few car parking areas we have! This is an outdoor role and is always good fun – waterproofs will be advised, and we will make sure you get a few tea breaks to re-fuel and warm up!
- Craft Zone Volunteer: If the weather permits we plan to have some art easels set up in the Stable Yard for our budding artists and we will have some crafts running in the play den for children through the day, these will require some supervision, tidying and restocking supplies – all carried out with a Springtime cheer!
- Retail Volunteer: During the Springtide Market our gift shop will be offering some tasters and samples of products they sell, we would be looking for some volunteers who would enjoy the opportunity to gain some retail experience. Meeting and greeting customers will be a key element to the role!
