We are looking for Volunteers to work within a homeless Drop In facility in Belfast on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings (7-10pm). You will be joining a Diverse Team of Volunteers and working alongside a Team of 12-14 Volunteers per night. We would ask volunteers to be with us on one evening per week.

This role involves supporting people affected by Homelessness including Adults at Risk and people with complex needs who may be experiencing mental health issues. We provide Hot Food, Clothes, Toiletries and Recreational Activities.

To prepare you for the Role we will provide 7 weeks Internal Training, shadowing an experienced Volunteer, and there is further Mandatory Training provided (Professional Boundaries and Safeguarding Adults) during your internal training you will shadow experienced volunteers. All roles operate in a safe controlled environment with staff leaders on site.

Typical duties:

  • Recording name and times of guests entering
  • Serving food/clearing up
  • Giving out clothes as required
  • Monitoring areas for any assistance required by guests

Tasks and responsibilities:

  • Attend nightly Brief / debriefs
  • Kitchen Tasks Food Preparation
  • Engage respectfully, and compassionately with our Guests
  • Providing clothes and toiletries to guests
  • Working as a Team and accepting guidance from Team leaders
  • Cleaning and maintaining guests facilities
  • Assisting with check in and out of guests
