Overview

Won Connect CIC is a social enterprise that helps businesses and organisations with digital services and runs personalised ICT and digital classes. We are a community interest company, and any profit is reinvested in the community as free IT classes and socialisation events for elderly and vulnerable adults.

Role

We are looking for volunteers to join the ICT team. In this role, you could help make a real difference in local communities by helping protect older and disadvantaged people’s devices and data from fraud, abuse and other online issues.

The ICT Tutor volunteer will develop and deliver computer and technology-related courses, providing a supportive and challenging learning environment to help students acquire knowledge and skills for the digital age. You will work closely with the ICT team leader and contribute to the design, development and creation of Won Connect’s programme and plans.

Ideal candidates will be available to contribute a minimum of 5 hours per week, with 2.5 hours for the weekly team meeting.

We’re seeking people with the right level of skills and experience who can help us over the next few months to ensure our 2023 impact is educational, inspiring, fun and exciting. If you have an inquisitive and detail-oriented mind, we’d love to hear from you and arrange a chat.

Skills You\’ll Need

No formal qualifications are required for this role. We’re looking for someone who is reliable, with reasonable English language and numeracy skills, patience, friendliness and a genuine interest in computers and technology.

Travel Information & Accessibility

Location: Orkney Street Enterprise Centre, 18 Orkney St, Glasgow G51 2BX. Regular buses and subway trains are available; the office is about a 10-minute walk from Govan station.

You must be over 16 years old. Applicants will be shortlisted. Expenses are reimbursed.

Availability

This is a flexible opportunity. You will agree attendance directly with the provider. Available on the days shown below: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Availability across the approximate area shown.
