Chef / Cook (Part-Time)
Hours: Monday to Wednesday, 8:30am β 2:00pm
Location: LEEDS 5
We are seeking an experienced and committed Chef / Cook to support the delivery of our community-based Lunch Clubs, Coffee Mornings, and Breakfast Clubs as part of our Neighbourhood Network Scheme. This is an exciting opportunity to join a valued local charity, dedicated to improving the wellbeing of older people through food, friendship, and social connection.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan and prepare nutritious, balanced meals tailored to the needs of older people
- Undertake weekly shopping and manage food supplies effectively and within budget
- Ensure the safe and hygienic operation of the kitchen, including a scheduled weekly deep clean
- Work collaboratively with the Senior Manager to maintain and develop the service
- Comply with all health, safety, and food hygiene regulations
Personal Capabilities and Qualities
- Proven experience as a chef or cook, ideally within a community, social care, or catering setting
- Ability to plan menus that are nutritious, varied, and cost-effective
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a small team
- A community-minded approach, demonstrating empathy, respect, and a commitment to supporting older people
- Flexibility, reliability, and a positive attitude
