We are currently looking to recruit a passionate and committed Senior Mental Health Worker to offer mental health support and onwards referrals for PAFRAS clients.

This is a varied and interesting role which involves establishing relationships with people accessing PAFRAS who are experiencing mental health difficulties, which may be existing and long standing or may be as a result of trauma and/or the hostile environment.

Working within a strength-based approach, we are looking for someone who will bring enthusiasm and flexibility with a willingness to develop our mental health offer, working at the PAFRAS drop‑in, office and with some home working.

PAFRAS is a small, grassroots charity that has been supporting people who have migrated to Leeds since 2006.

We aim to end destitution, increase access to social justice, resist the Hostile Environment and advocate for the rights of refugees and people seeking asylum in Leeds.

Given the length of time PAFRAS has been operating and how we work, working with and alongside people, we have gained a deep understanding of the community we support and the issues people face, which in turn means we are well known, trusted and respected among clients and the wider sector.

We have an adult advice service, a service supporting young people aged 16‑24, integrated mental health support and in‑house domestic abuse support, while also offering basic humanitarian support.

You will receive generous annual leave entitlement, flexible working practices and access to an employee assistance scheme.

PAFRAS is committed to promoting equality of opportunity for all and to developing a diverse and talented workforce.

We strongly encourage applications from people with lived experience as a refugee who have relevant skills and experience.
