Are you a passionate Early Years professional with experience leading a team and inspiring young children to thrive? We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and motivated Pre‑School Room Leader to join our nursery team and lead our pre‑school room in delivering outstanding care and education for children aged 3‑4 years. About the Role
As Pre‑School Room Leader, you will play a key role in providing high‑quality early years education in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. You will lead and support a team of practitioners to deliver engaging, play‑based learning experiences that support children’s development across all areas of learning. You will help prepare children for their transition to school by supporting early literacy, numeracy, communication and social development through meaningful and creative experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the daily running of the pre‑school room, ensuring high standards of care, learning and safeguarding.
- Plan and implement engaging, age‑appropriate activities and learning opportunities.
- Support children’s emotional wellbeing and promote positive behaviour.
- Monitor and assess children’s progress through observations and accurate record keeping.
- Adapt learning experiences to meet the needs of all children, including those with SEND.
- Lead circle times, small group activities and school readiness programmes.
- Create stimulating learning environments including outdoor play, messy play, creative arts and role play.
- Build positive relationships with parents and carers through regular communication and progress updates.
- Support, mentor and inspire staff through effective leadership and teamwork.
- Ensure nursery policies, health and safety procedures and safeguarding requirements are consistently followed.
What We Are Looking For
- A Level 3 qualification in Early Years Childcare (or above).
- Previous experience working within an early years setting.
- Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and safeguarding practices.
- Experience supporting children with diverse learning needs, including SEND.
- Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills.
- A positive, caring and proactive approach to working with children and families.
