Location: Leeds, West Yorkshire

Salary: £30,168 FTE (15.68 ph)

Hours: 12 hours per week (flexible working considered)

Contract: FTC until 31st August 2028 (with the hope to make permanent, based on the success of the role)

People Matters is a values-driven learning disability organisation committed to making a meaningful difference in our community. We are now looking for a confident, proactive and relationship-driven fundraiser to help us grow sustainable income and build long-term partnerships.

Role Purpose

This is a hands-on fundraising role responsible for generating income through individual giving, corporate partnerships, and fundraising activities. You will play a key role in identifying opportunities, building relationships, and converting cold prospects into engaged supporters and long-term donors. This role requires a self-starter who is confident networking, can manage your own pipeline, and is motivated by delivering results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver a practical, results-focused fundraising plan aligned to organisational priorities
  • Proactively identify, research and approach new income opportunities (corporate, trusts, and individuals)
  • Build upon and manage a pipeline, confidently converting cold contacts into warm relationships and committed supporters
  • Corporate Partnerships (Core Priority)
    • Lead the development of corporate fundraising, including sponsorships, partnerships, and employee giving schemes
    • Actively network to secure new partnerships and build strong, lasting relationships
    • Prepare tailored proposals and pitches that clearly articulate value for partners
    • Manage and grow existing partnerships to maximise long-term income
  • Individual Giving & Supporter Engagement
    • Develop and grow a base of regular individual donors
    • Build meaningful relationships through effective communication and stewardship
    • Design and deliver campaigns that encourage repeat and sustained giving
    • Plan and deliver engaging fundraising events and community activities
    • Identify new opportunities for income generation within the local area
    • Manage event budgets, logistics, and supporter engagement
  • Marketing & Communications
    • Work collaboratively to promote fundraising campaigns across digital and local channels
    • Support the creation of compelling fundraising messages and materials
    • Ensure consistent and engaging communication with supporters
  • Reporting & Performance Management
    • Track and report on fundraising performance, income, and return on investment
    • Maintain accurate records of donor engagement and activity
    • Provide clear, regular updates to the Head of Operations

Person Specification

  • Strong networking skills with confidence approaching and engaging new contacts
  • Demonstrable ability to convert prospects into long-term supporters or clients
  • Self-motivated, organised, and able to manage your own workload independently
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Trustworthy, reliable, and aligned with the values of People Matters
  • Proven experience in fundraising, business development, sales, or corporate partnerships
  • Experience within the charity or non-profit sector
  • Knowledge of corporate social responsibility (CSR) or partnership fundraising
  • Experience using CRM systems and Microsoft packages
  • Event planning and delivery experience
  • Familiarity with digital fundraising tools and platforms
