We are looking for a highly motivated individual to support parents to breastfeed for as long as they wish. The role will focus on engaging with new parents and wider family offering them practical support to overcome any challenges they may face with breastfeeding. Support Workers will act as a practical resource to help connect parents to other services and opportunities at a local level, where such support is required.
The successful candidates will manage their own caseload of families from initial referral through to discharge. You will have excellent communication and listening skills and provide advice both face to face, telephone and video conferencing.
The work will focus on the target wards of Bowling and Barkerend, Bradford Moor, Little Horton, Manningham, Heaton, Toller, Great Horton, City and Shipley and will work collaboratively with partner agencies and families to develop a social model for breastfeeding in the Bradford district.
- Hours: 15 hours per week Monday to Friday (Requirement for flexibility for weekend work).
- Contract Type: Fixed term contract until the end of March 2027.
- Salary: £24,151.40 Full Time Equivalent per annum Actual Annual salary: £10,350.60
