Pier Museum Shop Volunteer
The role is to work on the pier museum sales counter, selling books, DVDs, posters, cards, and seaside gifts. This role provides the opportunity to interact with the public, meet new people, and assist with generating funding for the Pier Museum Foundation Trust to reinvest in the museum to provide exhibits and information to the public while promoting the social and heritage elements of a landmark Grade 2 listed building.
Skills
Previous sales experience working on sales counters or tills would be advantageous but not specifically a requirement for the post. Full training will be provided. What we need are enthusiastic people willing to give up some time to assist the pier museum in achieving its goals.
We operate two shifts per day: 10:30 AM – 2:00 PM and 2:00 PM – 5:30 PM on weekdays and bank holidays. We also have some pre-booked school groups and other visiting groups during the week at various dates throughout the year. The days and times can be selected by you to suit your availability; you are not committed to any one particular day and can choose to work only one shift per day if that works for you. We are very flexible.
