Would you like to volunteer in our newly refurbished, state of the art kitchen? If you have a friendly temperament, general willingness to help and enjoy working in a team you will enjoy this role. You will work as the lead cook, overseeing the kitchen and the dining room team to deliver a freshly prepared 2 course lunch to the older members of our community who attend the day centre.

You will lead the rest of the kitchen team in preparing, cooking and serving delicious & nutritious meals for up to 60 older persons. You will be required from 08:00am until 2pm. We are open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. We are currently looking for a cook on a Tuesday.

You are required to have had prior kitchen cooking/catering experience. You will need to plan and quantify the menus and ingredients that you need; we will order them for you. You will need to hold Level 2 Food Safety & Kitchen Hygiene Certification and Allergy Certification. We will provide relevant training, and certification to keep you updated. You will need to wear chef whites and hat, which we will provide.

You will also be required to participate in regular communication and meetings with the other cooks and managers to discuss kitchen management and food safety updates. Sandwiches and drinks are provided.
