Overview
The Manningtree & District Community Bus is a local charity, entirely run by volunteers. If you have any spare time, no matter how little and enjoy driving then why not volunteer to drive or be a passenger assistant on our trips? We provide low cost door-to-door transport to help local people get out and about and meet others, providing a lifeline for many folk who may otherwise be quite isolated & confined to their homes. Amongst others, there are shopping trips and fortnightly lunch outings.
Responsibilities
- Volunteer to drive or be a passenger assistant on trips with the Manningtree & District Community Bus.
- Support passengers to access door-to-door transport and help them participate in outings.
- Contribute to providing a friendly service that helps reduce social isolation in the local community.
Qualifications
- Volunteers must hold a clean driving licence with a D1.
- If a driver, pass a simple assessment.
- If over the age of 70 you must complete a medical.
