Skills & Experience
- Proven experience working as a bookkeeper or accounts assistant, ideally within the voluntary or non-profit sector.
- Solid understanding of standard accounting principles and restricted/unrestricted fund accounting
(Charity SORP knowledge is a major plus).
- Proficiency in cloud-based accounting software and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail with an organised, methodical approach to managing paperwork and digital records.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain financial data clearly to non-financial colleagues.
- A relevant accounting qualification (e. g., AAT Level 3 or higher, ICB, or IAB).
- An understanding of the unique challenges and environment of small local charities.
