This is an opportunity to undertake a satisfying and rewarding role. The role includes helping to make up greeting cards and gift orders for our online customers and assisting with preparing packages for distribution to our shops.

Skills required are being comfortable and confident to engage with fellow team members, being confident to pick stock and make up orders, and basic ICT skills.

Location: 2 Lindsay Square, Livingston, EH54 8RL

Travel Expenses: Reasonable out-of-pocket expenses will be reimbursed. These should be discussed with your Line Manager prior to outlay and must be submitted within the prescribed guidelines as detailed in the CHSS Volunteer Expenses Policy.

Support: Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland will provide all necessary training about shop procedures, which will be carried out under the guidance of the warehouse manager. Formal training will include: Safeguarding Adults (L2) E-Learning, Health and Safety Essentials E-Learning, and Manual Handling E-Learning.

Restrictions: Minimum age: 18. In line with our commitment to safeguarding, this role is subject to a basic disclosure check. Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland are committed to equality of opportunity, and we aim to ensure no volunteer is unfairly treated on the grounds of an offending background.

Availability:

  • Days: Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat, Sun
  • Times: Morning, Afternoon, Evening
  • Frequency & Commitment: Preferred commitment is one four-hour shift per week, 10am-4pm. Volunteers (aged 18-25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
