Ben's Centre is an organisation that works with people who have substance misuse issues. We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Project Workers. This role involves engaging effectively and respectfully with individuals often at their most stressed and vulnerable.
You need to be able to hold the line and know your role and its limitations, be flexible and resilient, and support those who may have lost their own sense of stability. You will learn to read the room, anticipate and de-scale any risks, and be confident in asserting boundaries. Being a great listener, multi-tasking, and knowing when to sit and “just be” with our clients are essential skills.
Activities may include playing pool or connect 4, colouring and drawing, or implementing sanctions when behaviour crosses Ben’s ground rules. You should know when to seek support from colleagues and managers, and develop your own strengths, skills, and passion to flourish as a member of our team.
