Shared responsibilities (all Xenia staff)

  • All staff share responsibility for Xenia’s day-to-day running, development, and care.
  • As a staff team member, you will:
  • Participate fully in weekly meetings and collective decision-making.
  • Prepare proposals, contribute to discussions, and reflect on practice.
  • Build trusting, accountable relationships within the team.
  • Step in to support other areas of work as needed.
  • Contribute to strategic development and long-term sustainability.
  • Work with trustees and attend relevant board and sub-group meetings.
  • Carry out all work in line with Xenia’s feminist and anti-oppressive values.

As part of the wider Xenia community, you will:

  • Regularly attend Xenia Saturday sessions in London or Sheffield.
  • Build relationships with participants through sessions, events, and mentoring.
  • Support participant leadership and volunteering opportunities.
  • Amplify migrant women’s voices.
  • Attend the AGM and key community celebrations.

Experience and focus

We are also interested in any experience in areas such as strategy, governance, policy, HR, finance, fundraising, operations, or organisational development. You don’t need experience in all of these; curiosity and willingness to share responsibility are what matter.

Delivery: this role’s primary leadership

These roles lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of Xenia’s workshops and related projects, working closely with other delivery staff and the wider team.

Session delivery:

  • Coordinate bi-weekly sessions, ensuring facilitators, plans, and resources are in place.
  • Plan sessions at least 4 weeks in advance, with input from participants, partners, and staff.
  • Attend bi-weekly Saturday sessions, and manage logistics, participant communication, and session documentation.
  • Build and maintain relationships with facilitators, childcare volunteers, and venues.
  • Support delivery and reporting of funded projects.
  • Monitor budgets, track outcomes, and contribute to evaluation.
  • Build supportive 1:1 relationships with facilitators and volunteers.
  • Encourage participant leadership.
  • Support volunteer recruitment, training, and ongoing support.
  • Promote Xenia locally and provide signposting.

Partnerships & representation

  • Maintain and develop local partnerships.
  • Represent Xenia in community, ESOL, and migrant-sector networks.

Safeguarding, monitoring & growth

  • Support safeguarding processes and training.
  • Ensure participant data is managed safely and in line with GDPR.
  • Contribute to pilot initiatives, training, or support for new Xenia groups.

Location: Sheffield

Salary: £33,806 per year pro rata

Type of Contract: Part Time

Hours: 1.5 days

Benefits: 33 days holiday pro rata (including bank holidays), employer pension contributions, sick pay after probation.
