Have the chance to be involved in the behind the scenes running and decision making of Girlguiding Orkney as a Committee Member. We have a range of committees in the organisation, and with Friends of Girlguiding who run our Guide Hall.

Activities vary with each committee but can include:

  1. Working as a team/ leading a team;
  2. Managing records including updating risk assessments, fire safety information;
  3. Managing maintenance of the building;
  4. Working with others in the committee to make key decisions for example the dissemination of funds to our girls/units.

Volunteers will gain experience in teamwork and leadership skills, organisation skills, opportunities to make new friends, and gain new skills and experiences.

Experience Required

Organisation, team working, business management or similar. We are open to anyone who has their own expertise they can bring to the role such as health and safety, finances.

Full training into the specifics of the committee they are involved in will be provided.

Restrictions

Volunteers (aged 12-25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
