Overview
FM / M&E Engineer Technical Sales. You know buildings. You understand systems. You can walk onto a site and see problems and solutions immediately. Now imagine using that knowledge to win work, build client relationships, and shape commercial conversations not just deliver what's already been sold. Voltix Services is a growing facilities maintenance and building services company working with commercial clients across London and the South East. As we continue to scale, we're looking for an FM / M&E engineer ready to step into a technical-led sales role. This is your chance to move away from the tools and into a commercial career without losing your engineering credibility.
The Role
This is a new business, front-end role where your technical experience is your biggest advantage. Working closely with our Engineering and Operations teams, you will:
- Proactively generate new business opportunities, including outbound calling and outreach
- Open doors with FM clients using your technical understanding, not sales scripts
- Build trusted, long-term relationships with decision-makers
- Understand site requirements, risks and client challenges
- Scope maintenance, reactive and small works solutions
- Support pricing, proposals and tender responses
- Act as the technical bridge between clients and delivery teams
Cold calling is part of the role but this is consultative, problem-solving sales, not pushy selling. Clients value engineers who understand their world. That's where you come in.
About You
This role will suit you if you:
- Come from an FM, M&E, Electrical or Mechanical engineering background
- Understand planned and reactive maintenance environments
- Are confident speaking with clients and senior stakeholders
- Are comfortable picking up the phone and starting conversations
- Want a long-term commercial career with progression beyond site work
You don't need formal sales experience. We'll give you the structure, training and support you bring the technical edge and hunger to grow.
What We Offer
- Competitive basic salary (dependent on experience)
- Commission / bonus structure that rewards new business wins
- Company vehicle
- Structured onboarding and sales training
- Clear progression in a growing business
- A supportive, people-focused culture where engineers are respected
Interested? If you're an engineer who enjoys client interaction, spotting opportunities and winning work and you're ready to step into a commercial role with real progression we'd love to hear from you.
