We are looking for a Quality Engineer to support both our in-house assembly operations and our external manufacturing partners. This role plays an important part in ensuring consistent product quality, particularly in relation to PCB manufacturing and assembly. You will work closely with key suppliers, primarily based in China, to maintain and improve quality standards, as well as with our engineering team in the US and our operations teams in Blackburn, UK.

Key Responsibilities
- Supplier Quality Management
- Develop and maintain supplier quality plans
- Work closely with PCB and electronics manufacturing partners, particularly in China
- Define and monitor quality metrics and acceptance criteria
- Conduct supplier reviews and support continuous improvement activities
- Assembly Quality Assurance (On-Site)
- Support and oversee quality control processes within the Blackburn assembly operation
- Carry out inspections, root cause analysis, and corrective actions on production issues
- Work with engineering and production teams to improve build quality and processes
- Quality Systems & Documentation
- Maintain quality standards, procedures, and documentation
- Support incoming inspection and supplier qualification processes
- Lead failure analysis and corrective/preventative actions (CAPA)
- Data Analysis & Database Management
- Ability to write and execute database queries (e.g., SQL)
- Experience analyzing and interpreting database data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement
- Support data-driven decision-making through reporting and visualization of quality metrics
- International Collaboration
- Travel to China 1–2 times per year to work directly with suppliers
- Build strong working relationships to ensure alignment on quality expectations
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- Experience with power electronics (design, manufacturing, or testing)
- Good understanding of PCB manufacturing and assembly processes
- Experience in a quality or manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with root cause analysis, CAPA, or similar methodologies
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with overseas suppliers, ideally in China
- Knowledge of electronics production test methods
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 or similar quality standards
