YOUR MISSIONS
Voltalia’s subsidiary for the O&M and EPC third‑party services is looking for an experienced O&M Expert Technician to support our O&M Operations Team in the United Kingdom. Our O&M Expert Technician is a hands‑on supervisory role, providing technical support, mentoring, skills training and supervision for the technician(s) on site. With their experience, knowledge and technical skills, the O&M Expert Technician will work alongside technicians to respond to the service needs as assigned by the Area Coordinator.
The O&M Expert Technician will be required to:
- Assist the O&M Area Coordinator in coordinating the team, tools and equipment; ensuring resources are sufficient to meet work requirements, including implementation and contract management for O&M of PV plants;
- Address customer inquiries and provide technical support;
- Conduct site visits to assess and resolve customer issues;
- Supervise the implementation of maintenance plans and support the teams, ensuring safe working practices are followed and adhered to at all times;
- Promote and supervise implementation of procedures and guidelines provided by the Company within the technician team(s);
- Support communication, implementation and adherence to Electrical Safety Rules, good practices, legal, HSE requirements within the technician team;
- Perform regular on‑site technical inspections of the technical team, reviewing skills and competency and making training recommendations as per guidance;
- Support coordination of the technical team; providing follow‑up reports and feedback on the services provided by the O&M field team and subcontractors;
- Implement quality control measures to maintain high standards;
- Support coordination between on‑site teams and Remote Services (RO&ME);
- Participate with O&M Technicians in hands‑on tasks, preventative maintenance and/or corrective activities for troubleshooting and diagnosing failures (as required);
- Participate in an on‑call rota as and when required, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures and legal requirements at all times.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES
- Degree, HND or equivalent in electrical engineering or related technical discipline is essential;
- JIB/ECS Gold Card certification is mandatory;
- 5 years demonstrated electrical engineering experience in the solar industry;
- Formal electrical qualifications—18th Edition Wiring Regulations and City & Guilds Inspection and Testing;
- Experience with maintenance management processes and systems;
- High‑voltage systems knowledge: experience with high‑voltage systems and maintenance, ideally with HVAP1 training or higher;
- Knowledge of utility‑scale technical design (PV systems);
- Proficient user of Microsoft Office and IT systems;
- Availability to travel within the designated area of the UK for limited periods and at short notice;
- Full UK driving licence, necessary for travelling to sites in and around the designated UK area;
- Candidates must provide proof of their legal right to work in the UK.
