Role Description
This full‑time, on‑site Commissioning Engineer role is based in Shipley. The Commissioning Engineer will be responsible for planning, executing, and documenting commissioning activities for electrical systems and equipment. Daily tasks include performing functional and safety tests, verifying installations against design specifications, and identifying and resolving technical issues during commissioning. The role involves troubleshooting electrical faults, collaborating with design, installation, and project management teams, and supporting site acceptance testing with clients. The Commissioning Engineer will also prepare test reports, maintain accurate records, and ensure all work complies with relevant standards, regulations, and health and safety requirements.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Electrical Engineering, with the ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Hands‑on experience in Electrical Testing and Testing of power distribution, control, or protection systems.
- Practical background as a Commissioning Engineer, including planning and executing commissioning procedures for electrical installations.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical systems and diagnosing faults in a structured, methodical manner.
- Relevant technical or engineering qualification (e.g., HNC/HND, bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience) in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Familiarity with industry standards, safety regulations, and best practices for electrical installations and commissioning.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with multi‑disciplinary teams and clients on‑site.
