About The Role

Volta is a fast-growing GPU compute infrastructure company.

Our offices are home to a mix of business and technical staff who rely on a well-run, well-integrated IT environment to work effectively.

As IT Analyst you are the first point of contact for IT at Volta and the person who makes the day-to-day work.

You handle support requests, run onboarding and offboarding, keep devices and asset records accurate, and keep the office IT environment working.

Where the Corporate IT Systems Administrator designs and owns the systems, you operate them: executing established processes reliably, spotting where they break, and improving them as you go.

This is a hands-on role with real ownership from day one.

  • What You Will Be Doing
  • User Support
  • Own the IT support queue as first line: triage incoming requests, resolve what you can, and elevate with proper context what you cannot.
  • Handle account access, software installs, licensing requests, hardware faults, and connectivity issues across Windows, mac OS, and mobile.
  • Support meeting room and AV equipment, and make sure video conferencing works before it is needed rather than during the meeting.
  • Keep users informed on the status of their requests. Most IT frustration comes from silence, not from wait time.
  • Onboarding and Offboarding
  • Execute joiner, mover, and leaver processes end-to-end: account creation in Jump Cloud and Microsoft 365, group and license assignment, device shipment, and access removal on exit.
  • Prepare and ship devices for new starters through Jump Cloud and Deel IT, and make sure day one works: laptop enrolled, accounts live, MFA set up, access to the tools they need.
  • Run new starter IT induction sessions and walk people through our tooling and security expectations.
  • Confirm and evidence that offboarding completed fully, including device return and access revocation across all integrated systems.
  • Device and Asset Management
  • Maintain the asset inventory as the accurate record of what we own, who has it, and what state it is in.
  • Manage hardware lifecycle in practice: procurement requests, configuration, warranty and repair coordination, stock levels, and decommissioning.
  • Monitor device enrollment, patch, and compliance status in Jump Cloud, and follow up on the endpoints that fall out of policy.
  • Identity and Tooling Administration
  • Perform day-to-day administration across Jump Cloud, Microsoft 365, Slack, and Atlassian: user and group changes, license assignment, permissions, and routine configuration.
  • Support access reviews by pulling and preparing access data across integrated systems.
  • Apply access changes in line with least-privilege principles, and flag requests that do not fit rather than granting them quietly.
  • Documentation and Process
  • Write and maintain end user guides and internal runbooks so that common tasks are self-service or repeatable by anyone on the team.
  • Keep control evidence current for the areas you operate: access changes, asset records, onboarding and offboarding completion.
  • Identify repetitive work and propose automation or process change. You are closest to where the friction is.
  • Office IT
  • Support office IT infrastructure day-to-day: Wi Fi, wired networking, printers, and physical access systems, escalating to the Systems Administrator for anything requiring configuration change.
  • Act as the on-site presence for IT matters and the local contact for external IT vendors and suppliers.

What You Bring

  • 1 to 3 years in IT support, service desk, or a comparable IT operations role.
  • Hands-on Microsoft 365 experience from an admin or support perspective: user and license management, Exchange, Teams, and Share Point basics.
  • Practical device support experience across Windows and mac OS, including enrollment in an MDM platform.
  • Exposure to identity and access administration in an Id P such as Jump Cloud, Okta, or Entra ID: creating accounts, managing groups, assigning access.
  • Solid networking fundamentals: DNS, DHCP, VPN, Wi Fi, and enough understanding to diagnose whether a problem is local, network, or service side.
  • Clear written communication and strong documentation habits. You write things down because it makes the next person faster.
  • Service mindset without being a pushover: helpful and responsive, but able to hold a security or process line when a request does not meet it.
  • Nice to Have
  • Scripting ability in Power Shell, Bash, or Python for automating repetitive administrative work.
  • Linux familiarity at the command line. Many of our engineers run Linux and manage their own machines, so being able to follow what they describe is useful.
  • Experience with Atlassian administration, Jira Service Management, or a comparable ticketing platform.
  • Awareness of ISO 27001 or SOC 2, particularly what access management and asset management controls look like in day-to-day practice.
  • Experience supporting users across multiple time zones or offices.

How to prepare for a job interview at Volta

Brush Up on Your Technical Skills

For an IT consulting role, be ready to demonstrate your technical prowess. You might face questions on systems integration, cloud technologies, or even troubleshooting specific software. If you have experience with tools like AWS, Azure, or even specific programming languages, make sure you can talk about them fluently.

Showcase Your Problem-Solving Approach

IT consulting is all about solving problems for clients. Think about how you can illustrate your approach to a past challenge using the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result). It's a great way to show how you tackle complex issues and come up with effective solutions.

Know the Business Impact of IT Solutions

When discussing your experiences, focus not just on the tech solutions you implemented, but also on their business impact. Employers want to see that you can connect IT with organisational goals. Prep examples that highlight how your tech contributions improved efficiency or reduced costs for past clients or projects.

Prepare for Behavioural Questions

Since IT consulting often involves teamwork and client interactions, expect behavioural questions that assess your interpersonal skills. Be prepared with examples that demonstrate your adaptability, communication skills, and how you handle client feedback. Before the interview, think of situations where you worked closely with clients to create effective IT strategies or changes.
