You’ll work directly with the investment team to build internal AI products & agents that turn real business workflows into automated systems that save the deal team time and give us an edge over our competitors, particularly in go-to-market / origination related use cases: prioritising and segmenting the Volpi investable universe, improving outbound origination flows, automating follow-ups, surfacing triggers and news from the web, and connecting our data sources and file systems so information is organised and query-able.
Together with our origination lead & investment team, you will own product development end to end: scoping the system or agent, translating real business processes and strategic objectives into technical requirements, building it yourself, and then sitting with users to gather feedback and iterate. The job is to build useful tools & agents that the team uses every day, and to stay with it the whole way.
What you’ll work on:
- Internal AI projects
- Build and test agents to support back-office and investment workflows.
- Create internal tools that pull data from multiple sources and turn it into alerts, summaries, or draft emails.
- Tool integrations & workflow automation
- Connect frontier models to our Egnyte file system, making our file system query-able.
- Build lightweight automation around Outlook, Affinity (CRM), and web-scraping pipelines.
- Data engineering & APIs
- Build and maintain API/MCP integrations to fetch, clean, and aggregate data.
- Set up small ETL flows to monitor targets and portfolio companies.
- Use Python, SQL, or whatever you prefer to deliver dashboards or structured outputs.
What we’re looking for:
This is not a role for a purely technical engineer, and it is not a role for a pure ideas person. You need to be someone who can think strategically about ROI, product design and user experience, whilst also being technically capable enough to build & package the tools in ways the team can actually use - not just demos.
Must-haves:
- Curiosity to learn about the private equity business model and experiment fast
- Ability to translate strategic business objectives into a scoped, buildable product, and the autonomy to own it end to end through to adoption
- Product and UX judgement: knowing what is worth building, what to cut, and when something is good enough to ship
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the confidence to manage a demanding internal clientele and to translate between the investment/origination team and the building requirements
- Ability to build small front-end or no-code interfaces (React, PowerApps, or similar).
- Confidence working with APIs/MCPs and authentication.
- Familiarity with LLMs (Claude, OpenAI, Azure, etc.).
- Enough Python to build and ship small tools yourself (requests, pandas, scripts).
- Basic understanding of data engineering concepts.
Nice-to-haves:
- Experience with web scraping.
- SQL knowledge.
- Comfort working with cloud storage systems or document search.
- Some exposure to Power BI, Looker, or similar analytics tools.
- Familiarity with basic ML libraries.
How to apply:
Send your CV and a short note (max 10-20 lines) on a small technical project you’ve built - business, personal or academic. Links to GitHub or other formats of past work are welcome!
