Please note that this is an apprenticeship position and therefore anyone with more than six months professional experience working in a similar role or who holds a degree or masters degree in an IT related subject will not be eligible. You will also need to commit to completing a Level 6 Digital & Technology Solutions Apprenticeship.
What will you be doing? In this Digital & Technology Solutions Degree Apprenticeship role, you’ll play a key part in helping our IT team deliver great outcomes for our colleagues and brands. You’ll work alongside experienced team members, developing your skills while contributing to meaningful projects and improvements across Volkswagen Group UK.
Examples of work you’ll be involved in:
- Contributing to digital adoption, championing automation and process improvement to reduce manual work across VWG UK.
- Coordinating internal IT initiatives, helping to keep activity organised and ensuring good communication across our brands and functions.
- Supporting business representatives, ensuring consistent standards and delivery discipline.
- Supporting the delivery of low-code/no-code solutions, including the design, documentation and rollout of digital tools used across the business.
- Helping to maintain delivery frameworks, such as updating templates, guidance materials, and documentation.
- Coordinating training and onboarding for colleagues, including low‑code/no-code platform development.
- Building our digital community of practice, encouraging knowledge sharing, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
What do you need? To be successful in this apprenticeship you'll have a strong interest in Information Technology and in particular Digital elements and be eager to learn more. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills are also important.
To be eligible for the apprenticeship, you will need to achieve 96 UCAS points, have a minimum of 5 GCSEs (grades 9-4 or A-C) including Maths and English and meet the eligibility criteria in the ESFA Apprenticeship rules including:
- You must have the right to work in the UK.
- Residency: A UK citizen who has been resident in the UK or EEA for the previous three years. An EEA or Switzerland national who has obtained either pre-settled or settled status under the EUSS and have lived continuously in the EEA, Switzerland, Gibraltar, or the UK for at least the previous 3 years. A non-UK national who has been ordinarily resident in the UK and Islands for at least the previous 3 years where no part of this period has been wholly or mainly for the purpose of receiving full-time education. E.g. time undertaking a degree or masters degree as an overseas student does not count towards the 3 years. An individual with immigration or asylum-seeking status which makes you eligible to receive government apprenticeship funding.
Prior knowledge and skills: You must not have more than six months professional experience in a similar role or hold a level 6 qualification or above in a related subject.
Government funded learning programmes: You must not be on another government funded learning programme.
What can we offer you? You’ll be working towards your level 6 Digital & Technology Solutions Degree Apprenticeship over 4 years to gain a recognised qualification alongside industry experts. As well as a starting salary of £24,500 (rising to circa £31,000 by the end of your 4-year contract), you'll also receive 27 days holiday – plus bank holidays, have access to our car schemes, pension scheme, employee well-being support, on-site restaurant and shopping discounts.
What’s the assessment process? Once you hit the apply button, you will be asked to submit an application form with CV and answer a couple of video interview questions so that we have a chance to get to know a little more about you. Our final step in the journey would be to attend a face-to-face interview, where you will take part in a range of activities based on real life tasks.
