Customer Experience (CX) are recruiting for a BI & Data Product Owner on a Full Time, permanent basis.
Reporting to the Data Strategy Manager, you will take ownership of Power BI and the key sales funnel reporting datasets for VWG UK. You’ll play a central role in driving Power BI adoption across the business and ensuring our data delivers maximum quality and business value. As part of this, you will lead the Power BI Centre of Excellence, overseeing its engagement and governance processes. This is an essential role in delivering our company-wide data and analytics strategy.
Skills & experience you can bring to the role:
- Experience of data or BI development (e.g. SQL, Python, Power BI)
- Experience/knowledge of data governance principles
- Results and action orientated, pro-actively taking ownership of issues
- High attention to detail, with the ability to be in the detail and provide a strategic view
- Ability to build effective business relationships (both internally and externally), and drive consensus and alignment across multiple stakeholders
- Ability to clearly communicate about data/BI to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong problem solving abilities – using creative thinking to drive better solutions
- Comfortable with ambiguity in a constantly changing environment, able to operate in an agile way
- Ability to manage performance and deliver results through others (internal and external)
- Excited by leading the way on data topics
- Strong documentation related to data processes, structures and requirements, ensuring clarity across multiple levels of technical knowledge
- A team player with a willingness to learn new skills and add value outside of your set responsibilities
What does a typical week in the role look like?
There will be a lot of variation week by week, but you can expect the role to involve a lot of collaboration, problem solving, and strategic communication. Your week will include things like:
- Guiding the Power BI Centre of Excellence team to prioritise their backlog and ensure our dashboards and reports are both insightful and user-friendly
- Working closely with a range of internal partners, including the IT departments in the UK and Germany, to update and enhance our Power BI and data implementations
- Engaging with teams across the business to ensure our governance processes are well understood and adhered to, fostering a culture of data integrity and compliance
- Meeting with key data stakeholders in the Brand teams to understand, prioritise and align their requirements (across six Brands), or demo our latest delivery
- Reporting and presenting to teams and senior management across the group, highlighting our delivery milestones and the benefits we’ve realised
