About The Role
SALARY: From ÂŁ56,816 pa dependent on experience
LOCATION: Field Based with a central location preferable, you will be required to travel to Milton Keynes once a week

In this role, you’ll take ownership of a complex, high-value set of accounts, driving year-on-year growth through exceptional relationship management. You’ll develop and deliver a tailored, consultative approach for each customer, building strong, multi-level relationships with day-to-day contacts, key influencers and senior decision makers. Your ability to understand customers’ evolving needs and create the right environment for successful outcomes will be central to protecting, retaining and expanding your portfolio.
What you’ll be doing:
- Build strong customer relationships through regular face-to-face meetings with key stakeholders, including quarterly performance reviews and annual strategic reviews, to drive annual sales and volume targets.
- Maintain consistent customer contact via phone, email and digital channels (such as MS Teams) to ensure clear communication and strong day-to-day engagement.
- Proactively expand your network within each account, developing strong connections with decision makers, influencers and operational teams to enable successful outcomes.
- Protect and retain sole-supply customers by meeting their fleet needs, while developing multi-supply customers to recognise the value of sole-supply agreements and increase Fleet’s share of wallet.
- Use a structured strategic account development approach to win incremental business, maintain accurate account plans, manage renewals, identify growth opportunities and lead customer negotiations, including “at-risk” and tender situations.
- Own the customer experience by coordinating with internal teams, resolving issues promptly and ensuring seamless service delivery across all touchpoints.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to develop effective pricing strategies, using approved tools and frameworks to support high-quality contract proposals and negotiations.
Essential experience & skills
- Proven sales experience within motor financial services, fleet, or a related business/financial services environment.
- Demonstrated success in managing an existing customer portfolio, consistently exceeding performance and growth targets.
- Strong experience leading complex negotiations with large, multi-stakeholder customers.
- Hands-on experience managing contract hire arrangements for major clients, including resolving internal performance issues and coordinating cross-functional solutions to maintain excellent service delivery.
- Skilled in advanced key account management practices, including developing strategic account plans, managing senior stakeholders, creating customer value and clearly articulating delivered value to protect accounts from competitive pressures.
- Documented track record of successful account management within major corporate fleet accounts, including sole-supply arrangements.
- Solid understanding of the vehicle fleet sector, market dynamics and customer needs.
