In this role, you'll be accountable for establishing, implementing and producing the necessary liquidity, hedging and stress scenario analytics and models to inform decision making and regulatory reporting requirements.

What you'll be doing:

  • You'll be accountable for full compliance with all applicable rules, regulations and standards, including the European Organisational Handbook (EOHB), Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and European Central Bank (ECB) requirements.
  • Own and manage monthly Asset & Liability (ALM) data uploads and reporting for all UK entities, consistently meeting regulatory deadlines to support downstream ECB and PRA Risk and Regulatory reporting.
  • Monitor, measure and report interest rate risk exposures using gap analysis and interest rate risk models in line with the approved framework.
  • Ensure funding, swap derivatives and long-term loan structures remain within approved Asset & Liability limits and aligned to relevant risk frameworks. Partner with Headquarters to review and maintain swap effectiveness and derivative testing documentation, supporting the ongoing hedge accounting approach.
  • Develop and present data-driven recommendations for interest rate swap activity to manage ALM mismatches and minimise exposure to interest rate volatility, underpinned by robust quantitative analysis and market insight.
  • Support the implementation of natural hedging strategies between VWFS UK and VWSB Ltd, providing modelling, analysis and insight to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Lead the design, development and ongoing enhancement of Treasury and Liquidity models and forecasts, enabling clear reporting of liquidity and hedging positions to regulators, local management and Group Headquarters.
  • Contribute to the delivery of Internal Liquidity Adequacy Assessment Process (ILAAP/ILAPP) requirements, including data collection and liquidity stress testing. Produce and analyse Liquidity Coverage Ratio (LCR) and Net Stable Funding Ratio (NSFR) outputs, informing funding strategy and High-Quality Liquid Assets (HQLA) optimisation.
  • Prepare and deliver Market, Capital and Liquidity Risk Committee reports on a monthly basis, actively managing Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) to support informed risk decisions. Produce Treasury reports and Asset & Liability Committee (ALCO) packs for local and Group committees as required.
  • Maintain strong control frameworks and reconciliations, ensuring all model outputs reconcile to Accounting, Liquidity and Regulatory reporting actuals. Fully investigate and explain variances, and ensure models are efficient, well-documented, auditable and compliant with Internal Development Policy (IDP) requirements.
  • Own the consolidated UK entity planning tool, delivering a detailed five-year liquidity and funding plan. Validate and challenge HQ planning inputs, analyse the impact of funding options, and conduct scenario and stress analysis to assess the effect of market movements on interest rates, funding costs and liquidity positions.
  • Provide cover for daily and month-end Treasury activities across VWFS UK, VWSB Ltd and VW Bank GmbH (UK Branch).

What you'll bring:

  • You’ll need to be at least a part qualified Treasurer (ACT) or Accountant (ACA, ACCA) with a great understanding of Treasury and Accounting.
  • You’re committed to learning and continuous professional development to remain commercially aware of current and emerging market and credit risks.
  • You'll have demonstrable experience of Treasury Function operations preferably within a financial services environment.
  • You can build strong stakeholder relationships both internally up to director level and externally to secure commitment and support.
  • A proactive approach with the ability to react appropriately and effectively to changing circumstances and demands.
  • You're able to anticipate and understand interdependencies between different functional areas.
  • Motivated by new challenges with a willingness to take ownership of tasks with varying degrees of complexity.
