The purpose of this role is to drive efficiency, improve accuracy and enable teams to focus on higher‑value activity by delivering scalable, reliable and compliant automation workflows. This high‑impact and specialist role will be instrumental in shaping our automation strategy, overseeing end‑to‑end RPA delivery and ensuring that automated solutions are robust, secure and aligned to business objectives. The RPA Development Manager will add value by translating operational challenges into automated solutions, driving continuous improvement, reducing manual effort, and ensuring measurable benefits across the organisation.
What you’ll be doing:
- Develop and deliver the RPA strategy and roadmap, including the governance and optimisation of both UiPath and Power Platform technologies and incorporating emerging automation capabilities to drive efficiencies across VWFS.
- Lead, motivate, and support the RPA development team to ensure the effective implementation of new RPA processes that enable continuous improvement across the business.
- Engage and influence senior stakeholders, including IT SLT and BoM members, by clearly communicating the vision, opportunities and business value of RPA, fostering shared understanding and commitment to automation adoption.
- Work collaboratively with the Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) and business stakeholders to maintain visibility of priorities and effectively manage RPA demand.
- Ensure all automations are developed and delivered in line with agreed architectural principles, technical governance and the broader Application Strategy.
- Provide technical oversight of bots and automated solutions to ensure accuracy, efficiency, reliability and compliance with operational requirements.
- Collaborate with VWFS Headquarters and global subsidiaries on the delivery and release of changes, proactively managing dependencies, risks and constraints that may impact RPA platforms or integrated systems.
- Lead the team in identifying, managing and resolving IT issues that may pose risks to stability or performance, including those arising from third‑party upgrades or platform changes.
What you’ll bring:
You’ll be a forward‑thinking and strategically minded automation leader, with the ability to influence technical and non‑technical stakeholders at all levels. You’ll bring deep experience in RPA development and delivery, alongside the ability to shape an automation vision that drives meaningful business value. You’ll have a passion for designing robust, scalable automated solutions; a focus on efficiency, quality, continuous improvement and a delivery mindset that ensures RPA initiatives are executed with clarity, pace and strong governance.
Essential experience & skills:
- Experience working with RPA technologies, specifically UiPath and Microsoft Power Platform.
- Strong commercial IT experience with a solid understanding of programming concepts; ideally with hands‑on development experience in any coding language, preferably .NET.
- A good understanding of development methodologies and the full development lifecycle, with experience of both PRINCE2 Waterfall and Agile approaches (including Scrum and Kanban).
- Demonstrable experience in business analysis, benefits realisation, and translating business needs into effective automated solutions.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire, develop, and motivate a team to deliver high‑quality outcomes.
- Strong coaching and mentoring abilities, including experience managing performance, navigating difficult conversations, and providing constructive, motivational feedback.
