About The Role
SALARY: Up to £69,000 pa dependent on experience
LOCATION: HYBRID WORKING: Our current hybrid working policy requires a minimum of 60% of working time to be based in the Milton Keynes office however flexibility is expected to meet the needs of the business and the role.
HOURS / CONTRACT TYPE: Fixed Term until 31/05/2027 - The role is 35 hours however part time candidates will be considered

We’re looking for a HR Business Partner to join our high performing HR Ops team and partner with senior leaders as we build and launch our new retail savings bank function. This high impact and specialist role will be instrumental in delivering a blend of strategic and operational advice to our business from supporting organisational design concepts, policy set up, INED and other key role recruitment, supporting key stakeholders and generally being a change agent as we move from planning to approval to launch.
What you’ll be doing:
- Working directly with subject matter experts, finance senior leaders and INED designates to deliver the people workstream of the programme
- Supporting creation of job descriptions and ensuring solid people and OD principles are observed
- Owning the people activities with the nominated leaders and ensuring that we meet key People plan milestones
- Support people leaders with complex ER case management and guidance
- Working closely with our Employee Relations (ER) & HR Compliance Manager to coach and guide our people managers to effectively manage all employee relations matters and formal casework, ensuring consistency and fairness of approach across the organisation.
Your advice will deliver a positive outcome for the business, whilst observing employment legislation, upholding our Company values and identifying and minimising risk.
What you’ll bring:
- You’ll be an experienced people professional with a clear understanding of how great people practice supports business and contributes to the wider organisational goals.
- You’ll bring enthusiasm and high energy to deliver but with an eye on pragmatic people solutions in a highly complex and regulated business.
- You’ll have a passion for influencing business leaders in areas such as succession planning, people development, talent and succession management, performance and reward cycles and organisational change, leaning on our HR centres of excellence for support when needed.
Essential experience & skills:
- Demonstrable experience of people partnering in a complex or regulated organisation
- Ability to positively influence senior leaders and stakeholders especially where there are conflicting priorities to deliver win-win solutions
- Ideally have experience supporting set up of a new organisational function from concept through to launch and into BAU
- Ability to manage competing priorities and workload in a constantly evolving landscape
- Ability to develop and maintain strong and credible working relationships built on trust and the ability to challenge in an environment that encourages you to speak up
- Think strategically and creatively when it comes to problem solving, identifying pragmatic and measured solutions that put employees and managers at the heart of everything
