About The Role
SALARY: From £34,080 pa dependent on experience
LOCATION: Milton Keynes
HYBRID WORKING: Our current hybrid working policy requires a minimum of 60% of working time to be based in the Milton Keynes office however flexibility is expected to meet the needs of the business and the role.
HOURS / CONTRACT TYPE: Full time fixed term contract ending 31/03/27

We’re looking for a Credit Risk Analyst who will be responsible for the production of management information used to inform business strategy and ensure the business is operating within risk appetite.
What you’ll be doing:
- Deliver detailed portfolio analysis to evaluate the effectiveness of credit risk strategies and inform future strategic development.
- Lead the annual review and validation of all credit scorecards, including Probability of Default (PD) models.
- Produce high‑quality KPI dashboards and executive-level reporting, including underwriting performance insights and committee reporting packs for the Credit Lending Risk Committee.
- Support the Credit Analytics Manager and GM – Credit Risk Strategy in designing, testing, and implementing risk models and strategies that assess customer creditworthiness and affordability.
- Develop bespoke, ad‑hoc analysis and reporting using tools such as Tableau, SQL, Python and R, presenting findings clearly and concisely through visual storytelling (e.g., in PowerPoint).
- Contribute to key projects and initiatives, providing analytical input and supporting business testing for new products, systems and strategic changes.
- Monitor Credit Reference Agency (CRA) data quality, investigating anomalies and conducting deeper analysis where inconsistencies arise.
Essential experience skills
- Strong background in data analytics, with confident use of tools such as MS Excel, Python and Tableau.
- Proven commercial experience within financial services, ideally within a Risk function or similar analytical environment.
- Ability to manage a fast‑paced and evolving workload, balancing routine operational tasks with both short‑term and longer‑term analytical projects.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with statistical analysis tools is highly advantageous.
- Good understanding of retail financial services products and the expectations of working in a regulated industry.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to engage effectively at all levels, including senior leadership.
- Proactive, adaptable and able to respond effectively to changing priorities and business needs.
- Methodical, disciplined and thorough in approach, demonstrating strong attention to detail.
- Capable of interpreting complex problems, developing well‑reasoned solutions and delivering high‑quality outputs under pressure.
