About The Role

SALARY: From 49,354 pa dependent on experience

LOCATION: Milton Keynes

HYBRID WORKING: Our current hybrid working policy requires a minimum of 60% of working time to be based in the Milton Keynes office however flexibility is expected to meet the needs of the business and the role.

HOURS / CONTRACT TYPE: Full-time fixed-term until 31st January 2028

We're looking for a Commercial Development Manager to produce new product development business cases, make sound commercial recommendations and influence senior decision makers for new products and propositions that we want to launch to market. In this analytical and influential role, the business cases you'll present will cover key strategic decision points, product performance and ensure activity is aligned with customer needs and our commercial objectives.

What you'll be doing:

  • You'll develop robust business cases and financial models that shape the launch of new products and propositions across VWFS UK.
  • Lead customer value and commercial assessments to ensure innovative products deliver meaningful benefits and strong business outcomes.
  • Turn data and insight into action, identifying opportunities to enhance customer experience, improve efficiency, and drive performance.
  • Use your knowledge and research skills to provide commercial intelligence that helps prioritise product opportunities and maximise customer value.
  • You'll monitor and evaluate product performance, ensuring propositions remain relevant, customer-focused, and commercially successful.
  • Drive innovation across the product portfolio through market research, industry insight, and analytical modelling.
  • Assess future growth opportunities by evaluating customer demand, commercial viability, and long-term business value.
  • Collaborate with teams across Sales, Risk, Brand Management, and Finance to successfully deliver market-leading products.
  • Partner with Product Owners and Product Managers to create customer-centric, compliant solutions that align with Consumer Duty principles and regulatory requirements while maximising commercial opportunities.

What you'll bring:

  • You’ll be experienced at researching and writing business cases, presenting and making recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • You’ll have a natural curiosity and love to investigate ideas, be commercially minded and driven to interrogate and analyse market trends.

Essential experience & skills:

  • You'll have excellent communication, presentation, and influencing skills, with the credibility to engage, challenge, and build relationships at all levels, including senior leadership.
  • Proven ability to collaborate across diverse stakeholder groups, developing robust business cases and driving successful outcomes in complex environments.
  • Analytical and commercially minded, able to interpret data, solve problems, identify opportunities, and make evidence-based recommendations.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, building effective partnerships across brands, retailers, finance providers, and cross-functional teams.
  • Self-motivated and resilient, with the drive, confidence, and adaptability to navigate complexity and deliver results with minimal supervision.
  • It's not essential but could be helpful if you already have a strong commercial understanding of the automotive and financial services sectors, including market dynamics, business processes, and regulatory requirements.
