Overview
IT Risk and Security Undergraduate Placement at Volkswagen Financial Services (UK). Location: Milton Keynes. Closing Date: 30 September 2025. Salary: £22,912.50 pa. Contract: 12-13 months FTC. Hybrid working: we operate a hybrid policy where undergraduates work in the office 3 days per week; there may be times when you will need to be in more frequently depending on business needs. Eligibility: you must be studying for an undergraduate degree that requires a placement year. Master’s students are not eligible for this placement. Please consider relocation/commuting if you live more than 60 minutes away from MK15 8HG.
We are looking for two IT Risk and Security Undergraduates to join our team and develop invaluable IT risk and security experience. In this role, you will contribute to the development and implementation of enterprise-wide security and governance capabilities to adapt to evolving threat scenarios while supporting IT and organisational objectives.
What will you be doing?
- IT Security: Generating reports for monitoring and analysis; monitor and respond to mailbox inquiries; manage system alerts and incidents; support the Cyber Security team in continuously improving the security position; assess the security posture of third-party suppliers.
- IT Risk: Support IT risk function with managing IT risk; work with IT supplier management to monitor and collate risks relating to outsourced VWFS UK partners and third parties; plan, develop and conduct training for employees in risk management processes.
Both Roles Will
- Support ongoing monitoring and analysis of IT vulnerabilities and risks to ensure they remain within tolerances and on plan.
- Develop, manage and support IT security and risk monitoring and reporting activities to enable transparent managerial decision making.
- Coordinate IT security and risk assessments to identify deficiencies across the organisation.
- Collaborate with multiple IT managers to develop and embed analytics.
- Plan and coordinate regulatory-driven processes and remediation activities to ensure mitigating actions are delivered effectively.
- Plan, develop and conduct regular training for employees in risk management, policy and processes.
What are we looking for?
- Currently studying a degree in IT, Computing, or a related field.
- Strong attention to detail with a methodical and structured approach.
- Ability to remain calm, organized and pragmatic when faced with multiple priorities.
- Ability to take ownership of problems and proactively resolve them.
- Ability to research and pull information together to support projects and initiatives.
- Clear verbal and written communication with the business.
- MS Office proficiency, especially Excel and Word.
