Hybrid working: We want you to get the best out of your placement, so we operate a hybrid policy where undergraduates work in the office 3 days per week. There may be times where you will need to be in more frequently depending on the needs of the business.
To apply for our undergraduate placement scheme, you must be studying for an undergraduate degree that requires a placement year. Master’s students are not eligible for this placement.

At VWFS our Human Resources (HR) department works closely with all areas of the business to support them in delivering our people strategy.
Within HR, we have a Recruitment Undergraduate opportunity that will be involved in supporting the recruitment team to provide a positive candidate experience consistently and attract the best talent to our business. As well as supporting the team on a day-to-day basis with recruitment activity, you will be involved in managing our 2026/7 undergraduate campaign, where you will support this process from start to finish. You\\\’ll develop your networking skills by working closely with a variety of key stakeholders regarding recruitment initiatives and support our temp and contractor process.
Responsibilities
- Build great relationships and work collaboratively with HR colleagues, fellow Undergraduates, the wider business, candidates and suppliers as appropriate
- Providing core administration and coordination support for your team which will include managing the recruitment mailbox and responding to queries, as well as helping the team with interview bookings and talking to candidates
- Working closely with our external temporary and contractor supplier to ensure the process across the business remains compliant supporting managers with the process where necessary
- Support in the planning our next undergraduate recruitment campaign to bring our next cohort undergraduates into the business
- Work closely with key external stakeholders such as HigherIn, regarding the advertisement of our early careers recruitment campaigns
- Proactively identify and offer support for process improvements within the department
What are we looking for?
- Currently studying a degree in Human Resources, Psychology or a relevant field
- Excellent organisation skills with the ability to deal with a variety of tasks
- Have a keen eye for detail and accuracy
- Comfortable with working at pace
- Be able to use your own initiative to answer questions and solve queries
- Be able to research and pull information together to support projects and other initiatives
- You will be able to communicate clearly with the business both verbally and in writing
- MS Office proficiency, especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint

What Our Recruitment Process Looks Like
- Apply and upload your CV, covering letter and answer a few application questions.
- You’ll be invited to complete a Situational Judgement Test. This is a short multiple-choice question set to help us understand how you may approach situations.
- If you pass this stage, you will be invited to complete an online video interview where you will have the opportunity to tell us more about yourself.
- If successful, your last step in the journey is to attend an in-person Assessment Centre at our Milton Keynes office. You’ll also meet some of our managers and our current undergraduates to find out more about a placement year with us.
Please note: Our undergraduate placement roles do not meet the UKVI’s criteria for the skilled worker sponsorship route, therefore we are unable to accept candidates requiring sponsorship for this role.
